Infrared saunas are very economical to run. A smaller two-person indoor sauna costs as little as 30 cents per hour to operate. Larger models such as a five-person infrared or traditional sauna may cost between $1.50 and $2.00 per hour. Keep in mind that most people use their sauna for one to two hours per day, making the running cost minimal compared to the daily wellness benefits.

Very little. Saunas have no moving parts, which makes them extremely low maintenance. For the interior, simply wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth after each use. If the timber becomes discoloured over time, a light sand with sandpaper or a sanding machine will bring it back to like-new condition. For the exterior, a microfibre cloth with water is all you need.

When your sauna is assembled, a small amount of silicone may be required around the corners to ensure a complete weatherproof seal. This is covered in your user manual, or your installer can take care of it for you. If you ever notice any water ingress over time, simply check the affected area and reapply silicone as needed.
